This couple’s desire to put “poetry in motion” was repeated in poems and quotes woven throughout their wedding décor. The soft purple and green hues harken back to the pastel palette of the Impressionist art that the bride enjoys. From spherical topiaries to decorative moss in shades of mint green and daintily tied bunches of herbs, the floral selection created a verdant setting. The branches of the petite Manzanita trees were entwined with garden roses, hydrangea, peonies, and cascading blossoms. Such blooms were also a focal element of the bride’s one-shouldered Ines Di Santo wedding gown.
The “tree of knowledge” made a beautiful centerpiece for the escort table with its poetry decoupage along the trunk. The tree was adorned with whimsical mushrooms, moss, dandelion-like bulbs, and tiny birds. The groom’s love of chess was incorporated into the paper elements for their tables named after game phrases such as “Grand Knight” or “First Move.”
Each tabletop held decorative elements of stacked books and Lucite candelabras with apothecary vessels displaying the flowers for maximum effect at this extraordinary Grand Del Mar event.
